Day 29: Florence Broadhurst meets Kate Spade

Florence  Broadhurst was a multi-talented legend and expressed herself creatively through multiple mediums, platforms and continents around the world. By the time of her death in 1977 Broadhurst had lived and worked in Australia, Asia, and England; performed professionally on stage; been befriended by royalty; exhibited her paintings; and started an internationally successful wallpaper company whose success was based upon her own designs.

Here are some of her amazing designs:

Launched earlier this year, Kate Spade New York's entire 2012 design collection was based around Broadhurst's archival prints. You'll see fabulous frocks, jewellery, luggage, stationery, bedding — even tights — printed in some of her best-loved designs, plus a few archival patterns we haven't seen before. And they've been revved up, kate spade-style, with eye-popping accents of hot pink, lime and coral.

It's the perfect marriage: fashion house kate spade new york, which is known for its classic, graphic designs, and Florence Broadhurst, the late Australian textile legend known for her classic, graphic prints.

Here is a peak at what we are talking about:

I am in love with the whole collection and already have a few pieces in my closet!!
