#FridayFavorites: Interior Design Styles - Traditional

So many homeowners love that traditional style. Some people try and say it's out of style, though. We're going to show you that keeping a traditional style in your home is definitely not out of style. It's all about what you as the homeowner wants to see every day, so make sure you absolutely love everything you pick out! Here's how, from foundation to decor, to make your traditional style dreams come true...

When looking for flooring, stick with hardwood options. Darker woods tend to have a classier look to them. For all around the house, feel free to go crazy with crown molding. The molding design on the cabinets and drawers screams traditional in a gorgeous way that gives the kitchen a personality.

You notice immediately that it's mainly neutrals, but that's not always the case. Although choosing bright furniture will be a little harder to coordinate into this design style, you still want to make sure your personality shines through your home. When it comes to finishes, try to keep going with dark woods and not too shiny metals. Keep in mind rusted metals always tend to add a really unique look to traditional pieces.

Decor

Add in your style while decorating each room! Add in your favorite colors, metals, and textures. This design style can be a little hard when trying to fit in a funky statement piece, but it flows pretty easy when it comes to decor. You don't have to go above and beyond, but don't be afraid to break out of the all-neutral color palette and all dark wood finishes.

Give the traditional interior design style a personal twist, and like we always say, let your personality shine through your home's design!
