From Tommy to Timeless
a heathrow home’s luxury makeover
Darling, we’ve all been there. You fall in love with a house—those soaring ceilings, the sprawling layout, the hint of Florida sunshine pouring through the windows. But somewhere between the rattan bar stools and the palm tree motifs, you realize... it’s giving Tommy Bahama, not timeless elegance.
Enter our latest interior design case study: A Heathrow, Florida home that had all the bones of a beauty queen but desperately needed a couture wardrobe change. The homeowners came to us craving comfort, style, and a sense of modern refinement. And honey, we delivered a glow-up worthy of a Vogue cover.
Out With the Old: A Case of the Tropical Blues
This home was stuck in a classic Central Florida rut: heavy furniture, outdated tile, and enough carved wood to make you question if a tiki party was about to start. Sure, the Tommy Bahama aesthetic had its moment (preferably with a piña colada in hand), but our clients were ready for something fresh—something that whispered luxury, not shouted “vacation rental.”
Our mission? To blend sophisticated minimalism with cozy textures and curated pops of personality. And, of course, to raise the bar for luxury interior design in Orlando, Florida.
Neutral Never Looked So Good
Let’s start in the formal sitting room, because wow. We replaced the dated furniture with plush, modern swivel chairs in a warm oatmeal tone—because who says elegance can’t be comfortable? A sculptural black coffee table grounds the space, flanked by gold-accented side tables for just the right hint of glam.
That abstract artwork? A subtle nod to the vibrant chaos of city life, paired with serene wall colors and textured drapery that adds depth without distraction. This room is now the cosmopolitan cocktail of design—equal parts inviting and jaw-droppingly chic.
Dining Room Drama—But Make It Sophisticated
Our dining room moment was all about balance: clean lines, layered textures, and statement art. We anchored the space with a sleek, dark wood table, surrounded by modern boucle chairs that practically beg you to linger over wine and witty conversation.
Abstract triptychs on the wall add a modern punch, while crystal chandeliers float like artful earrings, catching the light just so. This room proves that luxury isn’t about excess—it’s about intention.
Bedroom Goals, Unlocked
Now let’s talk master suite. We crafted a custom, geometric headboard in soft grey upholstery—cue the collective gasp—and flanked it with dreamy pendant lighting that makes every evening feel like a five-star hotel experience. Layered pillows in neutral and metallic hues add tactile warmth without overwhelming the serene palette.
Our goal? To create a space that feels like a sanctuary but still has major “wow” factor. Spoiler: It worked.
Spa-Like Serenity in the Bath
The bathroom transformation is where Florida roots got a modern twist. We kept the natural stone tiles but elevated the space with a show-stopping wood accent wall behind the freestanding tub. Floating shelves cradle candles and plants, turning what was once an ordinary soak into a full-blown spa moment.
Who needs a resort when your bathroom looks like this?
Light, Bright, and Oh-So-Inviting
In the family room, we kept things plush and livable while still looking like a page out of Architectural Digest. A custom sectional in soft ivory sets the tone, while textured drapes and layered pillows bring in dimension. A creamy shag rug and contemporary side tables complete the look—because your living room should be just as stylish as it is snuggle-worthy.
Let’s not forget that marble fireplace moment—a literal work of art that now frames the TV wall like the crown jewel it is.
A Toast to Taste: The Modern Bar Moment (for now…)
We couldn’t wrap this reveal without mentioning the home’s updated bar space. Black cabinetry with brass hardware? Yes please. A mirrored tile backsplash? Absolutely. This swanky corner is now the perfect spot to mix a dirty martini or uncork that bottle of Veuve you’ve been saving. Fun fact: this bar, kitchen and flooring are next on the remodel list so stay tuned!!
