Life’s Too Short To Live In A Beige Room!

We have all been living through times of constant change that have created a multitude of life experiences. We have discovered these experiences and our belongings only define us if we let them and that experiencing life is not so much about what happens to us but much more about how we react to it. The designers here at A.Clore Interiors have explored this idea reflecting on how this interprets into four strong global trend messages we see emerging for the year ahead.

Bohemian Charm, Rock Candy, Earthen Wonder and Voltaic Clash

Inspired by emerging trends in art, fashion and interior design from around the world, with the help of our color experts at Sherwin-Williams and Pantone, we have created these exciting new color palettes to help you find the perfect colors for your home or office.

The Bohemian Charm collection features the retro glamour of pearls, florals and classic feminine silhouettes. They are tempered by fun and funky accents and attitude. The pastels are a bit bolder, including semi-precious gem tones like citrine, peridot and amethyst, set off by crisp neutrals. The look is still ladylike — but much more free-spirited.

The signature colors for Bohemian Charm are:

Awesome Violet, Radiant Lilac, Obi Lilac, Darkroom, Gauzy White, Rosedust, Independent Gold, Rosy Outlook, Bathe Blue, and Aloe from Sherwin Williams.

Everyone has a dark side, and we’re irresistibly drawn to exploring its murky depths and shadows. The colors are moody, the vibe is masculine and the aesthetic is both Victorian and futuristic. Visible mechanicals intrigue us, while theatrical effects, eerie collections and menswear-inspired fabrics like tweed and houndstooth evoke Sherlock Holmes and the Prohibition era of secret doors and speakeasies.

The signature colors for the Rock Candy collection are:

Roycroft Bottle Green, Olde World Gold, Plum Brown, Rockwood Dark Red, Rustic Red, Mink, Chamois, Loyal Blue, Outerspace and Rare Gray from Sherwin Williams

Time and nature work hand in hand to create a softened beauty that is restful and soothing. We experience it in the layered hues of mineral deposits, sea-buffed stones and the weathered shutters of a rustic farmhouse. The colors are chalky and earthy, the materials raw and organic, the finishes matte. It’s a homespun aesthetic inspired by our renewed appreciation for artisan craft, handmade quality and homemaking as a valued skill rather than a chore.

The signature colors for the Earthen Wonder collection are:

Silver Strand, Roycroft Suede, Spiced Cider, Safari, Smokey Topaz, Mountain Stream, Wickerwork, Herbal Wash, Unusual Gray and Poolhouse from Sherwin Williams

Electronics, alternative rock and digital technology — plug those influences into one socket and you get a blast of high-voltage look-at-me colors. We’re not shying away from them; we’re splashing them across everything from cars to appliances to upholstery. It’s consumerism as self-expression, giving the bold and the not-so-bold equal permission to be non conformists. All those bold hues need a palette purifier, bringing black, white, gray and clear acrylics into the picture.

The signature colors for the Voltaic Clash collection are:

Electric Lime, Dovetail, Frank Blue, Calypso, Extra White, Gladiola, Black Magic, Eye Catching, Exuberant Pink, and Feverish Pink from Sherwin Williams

Get inspired and say “Buh-Bye” to your beige room!!!

All Hallows Eve Goes Modern

Hello guys and ghouls! (hehe, seemed fitting to set the tone for this post) It is upon us…All Hallows Eve, our most favorite holiday!! So, in the spirit, we’ve tuned into Halloween Party Radio and geared up to show you some ways to decorate for this Happy Hump-day Halloween.

The days of simply carving a pumpkin and placing it on your front porch are long gone. Thanks to popular sites like Pinterest and Wanelo, Halloween DIY decorations have become more elaborate, ornate and detailed. Yes, spider webbing is still a necessity in our opinion – but with sophistication!

LOVE the elements of Halloween in this ghostly interior. Typically, spider webbing is used to decorate walls, tables, and the like. Here, the use of webbing in an unconventional way makes this living room sofa seem realistically frightful!

The crow is a signature Halloween element. Hang them from the ceiling of the entry way creating a hallowed sense of death as soon as you walk in the door!

Got an ugly pumpkin?

Here is a very easy  and inexpensive DIY project for your staircase, front porch or stoop. Gold and Black are a timeless combination – masculine with a hint of glamour.

To do this, simply spray paint various sized pumpkins in the color(s) of your choice. The numbers can be stenciled and painted or for a quick and exact application, pick up some vinyl numbers at your local home improvement store.

These funky black and white pumpkins, while a little more detailed, are done the same way.

Paint the pumpkins white and use black paint to create a cool pattern or draw on creepy insects. We like how they left the stems their original color for a cool contrast.

What is great about these DIY’s is you can get the pumpkins pretty cheap because you don’t have to be too concerned with how the outside looks!

We have seen a trend with black and white Halloween decor this year. The feeling is more homey, almost as if the decorations could stay all year long and not shout, “Halloween Decor”.

We can’t lie, we are a sucker for feathers and just LOVE the feather wreath and and bannister wrap used in these black and white inspired Halloween decorations.

Wreaths can be made into a decoration for any holiday and Halloween is not an exception. Actually, its the only holiday where anything goes! Feathers, muslin, skeletons, webs, you name it! Here are a few we liked, each captures the essence of Halloween in a new age fashion.

Ingredients: Simple Vase, Feathery Moss/Grass, Viney Twigs, Funky Mask, and a little Creativity makes for a really cool entry table piece!!

The key to decorating for Halloween without going overboard is to use right the combination of themed decor and everyday accessories. This fireplace mantle shows a perfect mixture both. By mixing these elements, it makes the space casual yet still festive! We especially like the use of the family portrait to add a personal touch.

These creepy doll head candle holders are a eerie mix of modern and morbid, perfect for displaying on a mantle or table-scape.

Trick or Treat?!?

Holiday table-scaping can easily get over-themed and clutterd if not done correctly. Here, keeping consistent with the black and white theme they used their treats to create this spirited spread. Very simple and functional.

Add instant sophistication by capturing a scape in a glass dome or jar. It makes whatever is under it an instant piece of conversational art and can be changed throughout the year.

It wouldn’t be Halloween with out tons of candles scattered throughout. There is nothing more ghostly than a dark room lit with flickering candles casting ghoulish shadows from wall to wall. Drape white sheets over furniture to create an abandoned haunted house ambiance. Boo!!

So, there you have it, our modern take on Halloween this year. Time to adorn my hot pink wig and dance around the studio to Monster Mash!!

Wickedly Yours,

Amber.C
