Every room needs an update every once in awhile, and letβs just be honest with ourselves, our laundry room is always the last room to be updated. Not to fear though! Youβll love updating your laundry room with our fun, trendy ideas!
Paint
Source
The best way to really make a difference in any room is by painting. Different paint colors give off different vibes causing the look and feel of the room to transform. Itβs also pretty much the most inexpensive way to change up a room. In a laundry room, we personally think the best way to go with paint is a very light blue-green color, such as Sea Foam by Benjamin Moore or Copen Blue by Sherwin Williams.
Storage
Source
We all know storage is absolutely vital in a laundry room, and sometimes even though we have so much room, it still isnβt enough! If thereβs an empty wall or a wall with artwork you donβt care for much anymore, bring down the artwork and add shelving there. Youβll be surprised at how much space it really opens up for you to use.
Staining the Floor
Source
If you have a basement laundry room, lots of the time, it has a cold concrete floor. Not only is it cold and uncomfortable, but it also darkens the room. Go ahead and paint over the concrete or stain it and add a rug to help out with the comfy aspect. It will be much easier on your feet and your eyes! Check out our post about staining concrete to make it easier on you.
Sock Finder
Source
Everyone is aware that all washer and dryers eat socks. No one knows where they go. They just disappear, but not anymore! We have two ways to solve this problem. You can make a sock jar and put all socks that lose their friends in a jar. At the end of laundry day, dump it out on the counter and find the matches. The other way to can solve this problem is by making a cute βSock Finderβ line that hangs in your laundry room, and you can clothes pin all the lost socks to it until you find their other half. Youβll never lose a pair again!
Lint Can
Source
Accompanying your trashcan in your laundry room, you should have a lint can. What is a lint can, you might ask. Itβs pretty self-explanatory; itβs a can that holds lint. Hereβs the catch, though. You can use an outdoor box and hang it up right next to the dryer. You just empty it at the end of laundry day, and voila!
Detergent Dispenser
Source
This idea we actually found and think itβs completely genius! We all know itβs annoying to lift the detergent jug all the time, and it tends to get on the side and can be messy. Instead, pour the detergent in a beverage dispenser. You donβt have to move it anymore and it just pours out with the lift of a small handle. The best part: you can do it with your softener, too!
Hopefully, you will enjoy one of these ideas that will give your laundry room a new look and feel. Our last tip: any change in dΓ©cor may work as well!
