How To Turn Your Wall Into Artwork

It’s just too easy to slap a piece of artwork onto a few of your walls and call it decor, because that’s not really artistic now, is it? Why do that when you can actually make your wall into art?! There are countless ways to design your wall space so that it tells a story about your creative mind while making the space a lot more attractive. Now, don’t get us wrong, we love to use decorative artwork on our walls, but there are so many other options that many have yet to try out! …And that’s where we come in! Today, we’re going to inspire you with a few unique ways to make your walls come to life. Everyone needs at least one special accent wall, so let your artistic mind flow and try one of these projects!

Ceiling Paint

For our first idea we know exactly what you’re thinking, “Why didn’t I think of that?!!” It is a pretty awesome idea if you have the time, we highly recommend this one! Hopefully your ceiling treatment is the same texture as your walls or else it might look a little funny, but the choice is yours. For this project all you have to do is expand the paint on the walls to the ceiling for a visually appealing effect. This design makes your eyes wander and gives off a never ending appeal that seems pretty modern and unusual, we love it! It’s a great focal point for your space that’ll have everyone looking from the walls to the ceiling! To complete this artwork, you’ll need the paint colors of your choice and a decided design. It’d be pretty cool to paint the ceiling like Michelangelo did but not so safe, so make sure you have someone helping you!

Color Block Paint

A lot of people are fans of the color block pattern and we can see why! There’s just something about different shapes and colors that makes everything look more unique and gives the appearance of being “beautifully broken”; everything doesn’t have to be perfect all the time! So, if you love the concept of this pattern then why not make it the focus of your accent wall?! With a bit of painter’s tape and some shape skills it’ll be super easy! Numerous different patterns can be made with tape and paint, so even if this pattern doesn’t appeal to you, there are many others to choose from. Walls don’t always have to be solid and perfect, and this type of project brings a modern and artistic feel to your space. Show that you actually put a lot of thought and creativity into your design!

Messy Stripes

Source

We love this idea because there’s no taping or measuring required at all! Perfect for those who are anti-measurers. Just take a small roller and roll on stripes from the ceiling to the floor. They don’t need to be perfect or exact–in fact, part of the charm is that each one will be a little different. This is the one where the perfectionists have to step back and say it’s okay to be messy! The design isn’t meant to be perfect and it stands just fine the way that it is which makes it so easy to love! Then you can hang a piece of artwork just as shown above. The wall even feels like it was meant to be a part of the artwork; it is a piece of art in itself!

A.Clore Interiors styles “She Lives Here” at Bloomingdales Orlando

6

Sheer excellence filled the air last Thursday evening on the 3rd floor of Bloomingdales Orlando in the Mall at Millenia where fashion and interior design made a collision. The champagne was flowing and the DJ had the beats pumping! Guests and shoppers also enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres while viewing the “She Lives Here” vignettes styled by A.Clore Interiors. The Bloomingdales team challenged the firm to translate this seasons hottest fashion trends into home decor by giving them 6 very different looks to create a backdrop for the model as if she lived there…..

Trending Tropics

2

The trending tropics look was inspired by the major influence of the tropical and beachy prints that snuck on the runway this season. A Ted Baker jumpsuit started this Bahamian bedroom and rattan bed frame set the stage! To make sure the model fit in her space, Amber selected neutral bedding with fun pops of color in the accent pillows. Designer Tip: Like the stylists did with the model’s head scarf, use the least dominant color as your accent when choosing pillows, throws, etc. Amber created a multifunctional use of the desk by doubling it as the night stand which is also a great space saving tip for small areas!

Instantly Iconic

1

Instantly Inconic is that go-to look. Its the classic DVF wrap dress and red lip. Pair it with an trendy top bun and classic clutch and you are ready to go! Amber envisioned this model lounging effortlessly with a cocktail in her hand. She paired the look with some adorable Mitchell Williams  + Bob Gold upholstered wool chairs and a cow hide rug.

Haute Hippie

We can’t deny the return to retro we’ve been seeing this season so the Bloomingdales stylists added this white and blue halter jump suit to the mix. Amber went psychedelic with the tableware in this vignette and kept the mod going with the 3 arm floor lamp and acrylic bucket chair. Totally radical….

Cool As Ice

This look was inspired by the all-white trend we are picking up on this season. From tailored capris to the classic white button down, pairing whites and grays is a YES in fashion and design!! Amber created this vignette by mixing white and gray in equal distribution. By keeping the contrast equal, you are get a cohesive sense of a monochromatic coloring that keeps the excitement!

Statement Stripes

Stripes are here to stay. Classic and chic. A stripe pattern is the perfect addition to any wardrobe or interior. It immediately adds dimension and typically can work with any pattern or shape!

Colors of the Season

Blue, Red, Yellow and Green are the colors of the season!! Everywhere Amber turned around there was a bright and colorful bag so she asked the handbag department to showcase the bags of the season along with a vibrant table setting perfect for a summer party!!

Remember, decorating your home does not have to be hard (or expensive)!! Treat it like your wardrobe, surround yourself with “signature statement” pieces that bring you joy inside! Loving your space is the basis of living a healthy and fulfilled life.

5Amber and her team (left to right: Corene, Samara, Amber, Amelia, Alivia) were so honored to host this event and were happy to help the Harbor House of Central Florida by giving back 10% of any sale generated by the event! They are excited to bring more of their youthful energy and mature design style back to Bloomingdales in September 2015!!
