ACI Service: Concept Presentation

The First View of Your Dream Home

Congratulations on taking the first step towards your dream home! The ACI interior design concept presentation is an exciting time to begin collaborating with your designer and begin to see the vision for your space. This meeting is typically the first of three meetings, and it is an opportunity to establish a style direction, color palette, floor plan, and budget.

What to Expect

Your concept meeting will typically last for 1-2 hours and will take place at the ACI design studio. During the meeting, your designer will ask you a series of questions to get to know your lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, and budget. They will also review inspirational images or materials to identify a design direction.

This presentation will typically include the following:

  • A mood board to convey the overall style and feel of the space

  • A color palette

  • A preliminary floor plan

  • A budget breakdown

Establishing a Style Direction

One of the most important aspects of the concept meeting is establishing a style direction for your space. Your design team will help you to identify your personal style and aesthetic preferences. They will also take into account the architecture of your home and the surrounding environment.

Once you have a general idea of the style direction you want to go in, your designer can begin to develop more specific design concepts. For example, if you are drawn to a modern aesthetic, your designer might suggest using clean lines, neutral colors, and minimalist furniture. If you prefer a more traditional style, your designer might suggest using warm colors, rich textures, and antique furniture. Our ACI design team can now work diligently on creating a design plan that is tailored to your lifestyle and way of living.

Choosing a Color Palette

Color is one of the most powerful tools in interior design. It can be used to create a mood, evoke emotion, and define different spaces within a room. The design team will help you to choose a color palette that reflects your personal style and creates the desired ambiance for your space.

When choosing a color palette, it is important to consider the following factors:

  • The size and layout of the room

  • The amount of natural light the room receives

  • The overall style and feel of the space

  • Your personal color preferences

Creating a Floor Plan

The floor plan is another important element of the concept meeting. The design team will work with you to create a floor plan that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. We will take into account the size and layout of your space, your lifestyle needs, and your desired furniture placement.

When creating a floorplan, it is important to consider the following factors:

  • The traffic flow of the room

  • The placement of furniture and other objects

  • The location of windows and doors

  • The amount of natural light the room receives

Setting a Budget

Budget is always an important consideration when designing a space. Your designer will work with you to create a budget that is realistic and achievable. They will also provide you with a breakdown of the estimated costs for each aspect of the project.

It is important to be honest with your designer about your budget upfront. This will help them to develop a concept plan that is within your financial reach.

What to Bring

To make the most of your concept meeting, it is important to bring the following materials:

  • Inspiration images or materials

  • A list of additional needs and requirements

  • Your budget workbook

  • Any questions you have for your designer

After the Meeting

After your concept meeting, you will be sent a concept package that includes your mood board, color palette, preliminary floor plan, and budget breakdown. You will have 72 hours to review the concept package and make any comments or edits.

Once you have finalized and approved the concept plan, the design team will begin to develop more detailed design plans and drawings. This will set the parameters and directives for the next meeting, the Preliminary Presentation.
