ACI Service: Preliminary Presentation

A Colorful Vision of Your Dream Home

The preliminary presentation is the second of three meetings in the A.Clore Interiors interior design process and typically after the Concept Presentation, and Initial Consultation have taken place. This meeting is an opportunity to finalize the color palette, style direction, floor plan, furnishings, and budget for your space. It is also a chance to see more developed concepts and ideas, as well as furniture options and material selections.

The preliminary presentation is an important step in the interior design process. It is an opportunity to see your space come to life in more detail and to make choices about the specific furniture, materials, and finishes you want to use. By working closely with your designer during this meeting, you can ensure that your dream home becomes a reality.

What to Expect

Your preliminary presentation will typically last for 1-2 hours and will take place at the design studio. During the meeting, your designer will present you with (up to) three proposed concepts or selections for your space. These concepts and selections will be derived from the approved floor plan, color palette, and budget during the Concept Presentation.

Your designer will also provide you with a more detailed budget breakdown. This will include the estimated costs for each aspect of the project, such as furniture, materials, and construction.

Reviewing the Proposed Concepts

Once your designer has presented you with the proposed concepts or options, you will have the opportunity to review them and provide feedback. It is important to be honest with your designer about your likes and dislikes. This will help them to refine the concepts and create a plan that you love.

Selecting a Concept and Making Choices

Once you have reviewed the proposed concepts, you will need to select one to move forward with. If you are having trouble making a decision, your designer can help you to weigh the pros and cons of each concept.

Once you have selected a concept, you will need to begin making choices about the specific furniture, materials, and finishes you want to use. Your designer will be there to help you make these decisions and ensure that your space has a cohesive look and feel.

What to Bring

To make the most of your preliminary presentation meeting, it is important to bring the following materials:

  • The concept package from your previous meeting

  • Any feedback or questions you have about the proposed concepts

  • A list of any specific furniture or materials you are interested in

After the Meeting

After your preliminary presentation meeting, you will leave with a preliminary package that includes the selected concept, floor plan, color palette, furniture selection, and more detailed budget breakdown. You will have 72 hours to review the preliminary package and make any comments or edits.

Next Up, The Final Presentation

If you need more time to make decisions or have any additional questions, your designer will schedule the Final Presentation with you. This meeting will give you the opportunity to finalize all of the details of your project, including the final furniture selection, materials, and finishes. This is the final opportunity for feedback on your project. After the Final Presentation, and within 72 hours, we allow for one complimentary edit then any edits or changes to the design will result in additional design fees based on the scope of re-work.

Additional Tips for the Preliminary Presentation Meeting

  • Be prepared to provide feedback on the proposed concepts.

  • Be specific about your likes and dislikes.

  • Ask questions if you have any.

  • Be open to suggestions from your designer.

  • Don't be afraid to make changes.
