How to create Florida Fall

The month of September is here and that means fall is just around the corner! But here in Florida when we're experiencing a heat index of 105 in the middle of the month, it can be a little hard to get into the spirit. We all want to be able to enjoy our pumpkin spice lattes, wear cute sweaters and have a bonfire as soon as the months change but instead were stuck with lots of water, shorts, and the AC constantly running. We've put together a few tips and tricks on how to get into the spirit even if it's 98 degrees outside... phewww!

Get an ICED pumpkin spice latte

Even though it won't be the same we can still enjoy the pumpkin flavoring iced instead of hot. Both Starbucks and Dunkin Doughnuts have their fall drinks out now!

Light fall scented candles

Since bonfires are out of the question in the hit, having candles lit that feels your home with the smell of warm pumpkin pie is sure to do the trick. Unfortunately, there will not be any s'more roasting just yet.

Start decorating the house

It will be a while before we start to feel that crisp fresh air of fall that has just a slight chill to it, but it is never too early to break out the fall leaves and cute pumpkins to start making your home feel like fall is here. This obviously is our favorite part of the holiday season! Try switching up the style and go for a white and green fall theme, or keep it classic and use all of the beautiful autumn colors.

Watch a scary movie

This will be sure to put you in the spooky spirit!

Bake some fall treats

Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pecan pies, caramel apples oh my! Be sure to eat lots and lots of candy corn.

Though we may not have beautiful fall leaves, a long season of sweater weather, or the ability to drink hot pumpkin spice lattes all season we can still make the most out of the short time we get to spend in fall!
